Founded in 2014, LumiaSolar has grown from a small BC-based installer into one of Canada's most trusted solar companies — with over 1,200 installations across six provinces.
Our Story
Built on a Simple Belief
LumiaSolar was founded in Vancouver by a team of electrical engineers and energy consultants who believed that clean, affordable solar power shouldn't be complicated. In 2014, we completed our first residential installation in Burnaby, BC — a 6.4 kW system that still runs perfectly today.
Over the next decade, we expanded province by province, building a reputation for technical excellence, transparent pricing, and installations that last. Today our team of 85 certified professionals serves homeowners and businesses from Victoria to Winnipeg.
We're proudly Canadian-owned and operated. Every system we design is engineered for Canadian climates — from coastal rain to prairie winters — because we know that solar in Canada demands a different standard.

All installations are completed to CSA C22.1 Canadian Electrical Code standards by licensed electricians in every province we serve.

Our installation and project management processes are ISO 9001 certified, ensuring consistent quality across every job site.
Fully Licensed & Insured
LumiaSolar carries $5M commercial general liability insurance and holds contractor licences in all six provinces of operation.

Marcus Okafor
Co-Founder & CEO
Electrical engineer with 18 years in renewable energy. Marcus leads company strategy and has overseen every major expansion since founding.
Priya Sharma
Co-Founder & CTO
Former grid engineer at BC Hydro. Priya architects every system design standard and leads our engineering team of 22 specialists.
Daniel Tremblay
VP Operations
Based in Montreal, Daniel manages our eastern Canada operations and has led the successful expansion into Quebec and Ontario.
